A JOYFUL CELEBRATION AT THE HACKNEY

Amy and John wedding celebration at The Hackney East London venue

Amy & John's June wedding at The Hackney was full of warmth, colour, and genuine joy. A celebration shaped by meaningful moments, expressive styling, and the kind of energy that carries a day effortlessly from ceremony through to a packed dancefloor.

Nothing felt forced or overworked. From their Hackney Town Hall ceremony to a canapé reception, three-course dinner, and evening party fuelled by sliders and Passion Fruit Martinis, the day unfolded with confidence and ease, grounded in the people they love most.

THE CEREMONY

Amy and John wedding ceremony at Hackney Town Hall

Amy & John were married at Hackney Town Hall, choosing a registry ceremony that felt personal, intimate, and true to them.

The afternoon ceremony was filled with emotion and connection. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the moment felt relaxed yet deeply meaningful, setting a calm and confident tone for everything that followed.

ARRIVING AT THE HACKNEY

Wedding guests arriving at The Hackney East London venue

Guests arrived at The Hackney to find Crémant, Passion Fruit Martinis, Margaritas, Mojitos, and Aperol Spritzes waiting. The welcome hour set an immediate tone: relaxed, social, and celebratory.

As drinks flowed, the in-house kitchen sent out canapés that kept guests moving and mingling. Lamb Bonbons with Mint Gel, Rare Thai Beef, Cheese Soufflés, Courgette Involtini, and delicate Salmon bites circulated through the space, each one drawing appreciative nods.

THE WEDDING BREAKFAST

When guests were called to dinner, they found tables dressed in the couple's pink and red colour scheme. Chalk runners and blush napkins (tied with gold rings) created a soft foundation, while gold charger plates and cutlery caught the light. Triple-height blush pink and fuchsia tapered candles added drama, their flames dancing alongside gold tea lights as the afternoon softened.

The in-house kitchen delivered a menu that balanced elegance with generosity. Starters offered a choice: silky Trout Pâté for those craving richness, or Heritage Tomato Salad for something lighter and brighter.

Mains arrived with confidence. Beef, cooked with precision, sat alongside Roasted Vegetables for meat lovers, while Halibut offered a lighter alternative, its flesh flaking against the fork. Gavi flowed for white wine drinkers, its crispness cutting through the richness, while Malbec warmed those preferring red.

Dessert landed as Lemongrass Pannacotta, its silky texture and subtle citrus notes providing a refreshing finish. Three speeches followed mains: Amy's father, the groom, and a quick thank you from Amy herself, each met with laughter and applause.

STYLE NOTES

Wedding styling with pink florals and gold accents at The Hackney

The styling throughout was confident and expressive. Pink and red ran through every detail, from the towering tapered candles to the floral arrangements that softened the venue's industrial edges.

A sweetheart table for the couple added intimacy at the head of the room. Orange and red uplights washed the brick walls with warmth, while LED pillar candles flickered around the space. A fairylight curtain hung at the entrance, and a neon sign glowed against the backdrop.

The cake table held brownies and macarons rather than a traditional tiered cake, cut quietly at 7:30pm without announcement, exactly as Amy and John wanted it.

THE EVENING CELEBRATION

As dinner drew to a close, the room shifted. Tables were cleared, the dancefloor emerged, and evening guests arrived to find beer buckets scattered around the venue alongside continuing cocktail service.

The DJ took control, building energy as the dancefloor filled. Amy and John's first dance opened proceedings, and from there the celebration rarely paused.

At 9pm, Chicken Sliders and Fish Sliders appeared, keeping hungry dancers fuelled as the night wore on. Last calls came at 10:50pm, with music wrapping at 11pm and guests finally heading home at 11:30pm, the kind of evening where every moment felt unhurried and right.
