A Taste of Toronto at The Hackney
There’s something extraordinary about a night where creativity, culture and conversation come together so effortlessly - and A Taste of Toronto at The Hackney was exactly that. Hosted in collaboration with @blackdiamondpr and @destination_toronto, the evening brought the spirit of Canadian Thanksgiving to East London in the most heart-warming Friendsgiving style.
As guests arrived, our 1860s venue glowed under candlelight - a setting of refined intimacy where history met modern artistry. Each table was styled with seasonal flourishes and soft botanical accents, setting the tone for a culinary journey that felt as soulful as it was sophisticated.
The menu - an entirely plant-based feast curated and hosted by the award-winning creator @sepps - was inspired by his recent trip to Toronto, a city celebrated for its cultural diversity and culinary innovation. Every dish told a story: a celebration of heritage, flavour, and the joy of sharing a meal with friends old and new. From vibrant seasonal produce to meticulously crafted desserts, the evening embodied the beauty of connection through food.

The evening also welcomed special guest @danidmc, whose energy and creative spirit added even more warmth to the night. Her presence reflected the very essence of the event - a celebration of culture, diversity, and connection through shared experiences.

Beyond the plates and the pour of fine wine, there was a sense of community that filled the room - laughter echoing beneath the skylight, conversations spilling from the bar to the terrace, and a collective appreciation for creativity without borders. It was a reminder of what The Hackney does best: bringing people together for moments that linger long after the night ends.
As the evening closed, the warm hum of music and the clink of glasses felt like the perfect ode to autumn - a celebration of gratitude, togetherness, and the magic of shared stories across continents.
