Music Guidelines and Policies at The Hackney
At The Hackney, we are committed to creating a memorable experience for your event while respecting our local community. Due to our residential surroundings, we have specific guidelines to ensure that music is enjoyed responsibly within our venue.Key Policies:
- Music End Times: All music must end by 11 PM, with live music concluding by 10 PM.
- Outdoor Restrictions: No music is allowed in the outdoor terrace area to maintain the serene environment for our neighbours.
Noise Restrictions and General Rules
To maintain a balance between vibrant celebrations and our residential setting, please adhere to the following noise restrictions:- Sound Levels: We strictly manage sound levels to comply with local regulations. Management reserves the right to adjust the volume during the event.
- Noise Complaints: If we receive a complaint, music volume may need to be reduced immediately.
DJ Guidelines
We provide a state-of-the-art audio setup at The Hackney to ensure high-quality sound for all DJ performances. DJs must follow these guidelines:Equipment for DJs:
- PA System Use: DJs are required to use our in-house PA system and sound equipment.
- Connection Setup: We provide standard audio connections compatible with most DJ gear. Please confirm compatibility before your event.
- Volume Control: The Hackney team will oversee the sound levels to maintain a comfortable yet lively atmosphere.
Live Music Guidelines
For live music performances, we focus on creating an intimate and enjoyable experience. Here’s what you need to know about live music setups at The Hackney:Allowed Instruments:
- Singer / A Cappella Singer
- Acoustic Instruments: Acoustic guitar and similar instruments (e.g., ukulele, banjo, sitar)
- Electric Guitar & Electric Bass: Venue approval required
- Double Bass & Cello
- Violin
- Small Percussion: Cajon, congas, or bongos (limited to one percussion instrument; venue approval required)
- Electric Drums
- Harp
- Piano Keyboard
Instruments NOT allowed:
- Brass instruments
- Wind/pipe instruments
- Grand piano or organs
- Full drum kits and large percussion sets
- Zaffa bands
- Dhol players
