You will find us at 503 Hackney Road, London E2 9ED, on one of East London’s oldest thoroughfares. Whether you are coming for a wedding, an event, or a coffee in the cafe-bar, the journey is straightforward - this is everything you and your guests need to know.
For door-to-door directions, search “The Hackney” or our postcode E2 9ED in your maps app of choice.
The nearest stations to The Hackney
Cambridge Heath Overground station is the closest to the venue, around a ten-minute walk away. Bethnal Green Underground station on the Central line is within a ten to fifteen-minute walk, and Hoxton Overground sits a similar distance to the west. Three stations, three directions - wherever guests are coming from, one of them will be convenient.
For anyone travelling from further afield, Liverpool Street is the landmark to aim for: one stop away by rail and a short bus or taxi ride from the venue, with connections to National Rail, the Elizabeth line and the wider Underground network.
By bus
Hackney Road is well served by buses. Routes 26, 48, 55 and 106 all stop within a few minutes’ walk of the venue and connect to Liverpool Street, Shoreditch, Bethnal Green and beyond. For evening events, the same routes run late - useful when the dancing finishes.

By taxi or ride-share
Taxis and ride-share services are the simplest option for groups, and most couples arrange them for the end of the night. Give your driver 503 Hackney Road, E2 9ED and they will bring you to the entrance - there is a convenient drop-off spot by the main door for guests arriving by cab.
If you are planning a wedding, group transport from your ceremony venue is worth considering. A coach or vintage bus keeps everyone together and turns the journey into part of the day - our ceremony venues guide covers the timings from the most popular registry offices and chapels.
By bike
Cycling is one of the nicest ways to arrive. Hackney has some of the best cycle infrastructure in London, and there are bike racks near the venue where you can lock up securely. Santander Cycles docking stations are dotted around the area if you would rather ride a hire bike one way.
Parking near Hackney Road
On-street parking near the venue is limited and operates on a pay-and-display basis - check the local signage for hours and restrictions, as they vary street by street. If you are driving in for an event, book a space ahead through an app like JustPark or Parkopedia, which list private spaces and car parks within a short walk.
Our advice, though: if you can come by train, bus or taxi, do. It is the relaxed way to arrive, and nobody wants to think about a parking meter during a wedding breakfast.
Access needs
If anyone in your party has access needs, tell us when you book or get in touch ahead of your visit - we will make sure arrival, entry and the day itself are taken care of.

Arrive early, make a morning of it
If you are coming for a tour or a tasting, the cafe-bar is open through the day. Arrive ahead of time, settle in the courtyard with a coffee, and get a feel for the building before the occasion starts.
Better still, make a day of it. Victoria Park, Broadway Market and Columbia Road are all within easy reach, and our guide to things to do near The Hackney maps out a full day in the neighbourhood - useful for guests who are visiting East London for the first time.
And if you are still at the planning stage, see which dates are free on our calendar - then come and find us. You now know the way.
