The Concept

Dinner Without Distraction

Our supper club is a series of one-off dining events inside The Hackney - a restored 1856 brewery on Hackney Road with soaring ceilings, skylights and exposed brick.

Each night features a guest chef cooking a multi-course menu with wines paired to every dish, a room lit almost entirely by candlelight, and a playlist curated for the evening.

Good food. Good wine. Actual conversation. That is the whole idea.

We are launching the series in partnership with The Nudge, curators of some of London's most talked-about nights. As we grow, we will host our own dinners and invite chefs, producers and makers from across East London and beyond.

What To Expect

How The Evening Works

01

Arrive At The Bar

You arrive at The Hackney and take a welcome cocktail at the bar. The room is set, candles lit, the playlist running. A chance to settle in before you sit down.

02

Sit Down To Eat

Move through to a long candlelit table for a multi-course dinner from that evening's guest chef. Each dish is paired with a wine selected to match. Conversation flows naturally.

03

Leave Lighter

Dessert, a final pour, goodbyes to the people you have actually spoken to. You head home having had a proper evening out, not another night on your phone.

The Kitchen

Guest Chefs. In-House Kitchen.

The Hackney has its own professional kitchen led by Chef Marco Mannoni, who cooks modern European menus for our weddings and events throughout the year.

For supper club nights, we invite guest chefs to take over the kitchen and bring something different - rotating styles, cuisines and stories across the series.

Our first guest is Chef Ella Williams, a London-born chef known for bold, sunny flavours and relaxed, modern European cooking. She started in professional kitchens at 15 and has cooked at Café Murano, Cinder, Mountain and Crispin at Studio Voltaire. She founded Ode Sunday Supperclub in 2021 and now cooks at Hausu in Peckham, where her menus are vibrant and ingredient-led.

Common Questions

Before You Sign Up

Can I come on my own?

Yes - most attendees come solo or as a pair. We seat the room together as one long table, so you'll be sat with people you do not know yet. That's part of the experience.

What about dietary requirements and allergies?

Each menu offers alternatives where possible. Tell us when you book and we'll brief the chef. We can usually accommodate vegetarian, pescatarian, and most allergies. The menus are tightly orchestrated, so full vegan or strict gluten-free may not work for every course.

Is there a dress code?

No formal dress code. Most people land somewhere on smart-casual. The room is candlelit and you'll be at the table for a few hours, so dress comfortable.

How often will I hear from you after I sign up?

Only when a new supper club is about to drop, which is roughly once a month. No general newsletters, no other marketing on this list.

Can I cancel or transfer my ticket?

Tickets are non-refundable but transferable. If you cannot make it, send your booking confirmation to whoever takes your seat - just let us know the new name 24 hours before the event.

Can I bring a friend who isn't on the list?

Yes. Once you have first access, you can book any number of seats in one booking. Your friend can join the list separately if they want first access to future events.

What does a ticket usually cost?

Recent events have been £75-95 per person, including a welcome cocktail, multi-course dinner, and paired wines. Prices vary by guest chef and menu format.

Where's the venue and how do I get there?

The Hackney is at 503 Hackney Road, London E2 9ED. Five minutes from Hoxton Overground, ten from Bethnal Green Underground. Street parking is limited - public transport is the best route in.
