Five quick questions. We'll come back with a tailored proposal covering venue hire, catering, bar, and everything your event needs.
What You Are Getting
Plenty of event spaces in London are a blank box: white walls and a concrete floor that you have to dress, light, furnish and cater from scratch. At The Hackney your brand gets a whole restored 1856 brewery on Hackney Road, with the industrial character already built in and nobody else in the building.
| A blank event space | Exclusive hire The Hackney |
|---|---|

| Caterers, bar and furniture to source and hire in | Our own kitchen and bar team, with a venue manager and furniture included |

| A neutral box you light and style yourself | A backdrop that photographs as well as it functions |

Brand Activations
A launch works when the room is part of the message. Here the whole building is yours: exposed brick, original timber beams and a winter garden under a glass roof, a raw Victorian brewery that photographs as well as it functions.
Put your product on show in the Winter Garden, welcome guests at The Bar Area, run a demo or a talk in The Lounge and take the crowd out onto The Covered Terrace. Bring your banners, projected logos, neon and signage: the brickwork does the rest, as long as nothing is fixed to the walls.
Vagabond took over the Winter Garden with a shoe launch, Gozney fired up its pizza ovens and Impulse set up a pink crystal backdrop. Bring your own production team, or let our kitchen and bar team handle the food and drink. Earlier access for load-in can usually be arranged, and we can run technical rehearsals the day before.

The Hackney holds up to 100 standing for a launch or reception and seats up to 60 for a dinner. The space reconfigures for product displays, presentations, dining or networking. If you need more than 100 standing, we are probably not the right fit, and we are happy to say so.
Yes. The Hackney is exclusive hire only, so your brand has the whole building: the Winter Garden, The Lounge, The Covered Terrace and The Bar Area. No other events, no shared spaces and no passing trade walking through your activation.
Yes. The Hackney's exposed brick and industrial interior work as a blank canvas for branding. Clients regularly bring pull-up banners, projected logos, neon signs, bespoke signage and custom table settings. We ask that nothing is fixed permanently to walls or floors, so no nails, screws or adhesive on the brickwork. If you are planning a full wrap or large-scale installation, talk to us early and we will confirm what is possible.
Yes. The Hackney welcomes your own production team, stylists and suppliers, and we coordinate with external production teams as standard. Most clients use our in-house kitchen and bar team because it keeps everything under one roof; if you want to bring in your own caterer or bar, tell us when you enquire and we will include it in your quote. A buy-out applies when you bring in your own caterer or bar, and the full pricing is in our pricing guide. Get the pricing guide.
Hire at The Hackney runs from 9am to 11pm, with guests leaving by 11:30pm. If you need earlier access for load-in or production setup, that can usually be arranged: tell us when you enquire and we will share the current rate. We can also manage technical rehearsals the day before.
The Hackney includes a projector, screens, a sound system covering the whole venue and wifi throughout in the venue hire. We can support presentations, product demos and live streaming. Tell us what you need during planning and we will confirm what is included and what needs bringing in.
The Hackney has its own kitchen and bar team: canapes, bowl food and three-course dinners, with signature cocktails from the bar. Every dietary requirement is catered for, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and kosher.
The Hackney has hosted brand activations and launches for Vagabond, Gozney and Impulse, and past activations include Adidas, Spotify, Samsung and Coca-Cola.
Yes. The Hackney has a built-in sound system covering the whole venue that connects to Spotify, and DJs are fine. Live performers work too, within our neighbours' limits: acoustic groups up to a quartet, finishing by 10pm.
Weekdays are The Hackney's main corporate availability, and we host everything from Monday morning workshops to Friday evening launches. Our Check Your Date page shows live availability.
Most corporate events at The Hackney book four to eight weeks ahead, and summer Fridays go earliest. Weekday dates are often available at shorter notice, so it is always worth asking.
The Hackney is at 503 Hackney Road, London E2 9ED. Cambridge Heath Overground is a 2-minute walk and Bethnal Green Underground on the Central line is 9 minutes away. There is no on-site parking; Hackney Road has metered parking during the day and free parking from 7pm to 8am.
Honestly, not fully. The Hackney is a Victorian brewery with a protected facade, so there is a 15cm step at the entrance and the pavement is too narrow for a permanent ramp. The doorway is wide enough for a wheelchair with a little help. We do not currently have accessible toilets. If this matters for any of your guests, tell us up front and we will be straight with you.
Yes. The Hackney runs venue visits so you can walk every space with us and talk through how your activation could run. Book a visit through our Check Your Date page.
