What You Are Getting
Most away day venues in London hire you a room: a meeting room in a hotel or a private space off a busy restaurant, with other groups in the corridor and at lunch. At The Hackney your team gets the whole building, a restored 1856 brewery on Hackney Road, with nobody else in it for the day.

Away Days
An away day works when it feels different from the office. Here the whole building is yours: exposed brick, original timber beams and a winter garden under a glass roof, with daylight coming in from above.
Arrive at The Bar Area, gather for the talks in the Winter Garden, break out into The Lounge and get some air on The Covered Terrace without leaving the building. The space reconfigures from theatre-style presentations to long tables, so the room follows the day rather than the other way round.
Our kitchen and bar team look after the food and drink, from breakfast through to dinner, and every dietary need is covered. The hire runs until 11pm, so if the day turns into dinner and drinks, nobody has to move.
Meetings
Board meetings, strategy days and workshops, with the whole building to yourselves rather than a room in it. Set it up boardroom style or theatre style, with the projector, screens, sound system and wifi already in the hire. Our kitchen caters from breakfast through to evening, and board meetings often book the same week.

Before You Enquire
Full day venue hire at The Hackney is £2,000 + VAT for the whole venue from 9am to 11pm, with your venue manager, furniture and AV included. Further staff are priced to your event. Food and drink are charged on top and quoted to your brief. Three-course guest menus start from £70 + VAT per person. There is no service charge and no hidden extras: the price we quote is the price you pay.
The Hackney seats up to 60 and holds up to 100 standing. The space reconfigures for presentations, workshops, dining or networking. If you need more than 100 standing, we are probably not the right fit, and we are happy to say so.
Yes. The Hackney is exclusive hire only, so your team has the whole building for the day: the Winter Garden, The Lounge, The Covered Terrace and The Bar Area. No other events, no shared spaces and nobody else at lunch.
The Hackney includes a projector, screens, a sound system covering the whole venue and wifi throughout in the venue hire. Tell us what your sessions need during planning and we will confirm what is included and what needs bringing in.
The Hackney has its own kitchen and bar team, and they cater the whole day, from breakfast through to evening: canapes, bowl food and three-course meals, with signature cocktails from the bar if the day ends with drinks. Every dietary requirement is catered for, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and kosher. If you would rather bring your own, a £500 + VAT catering buy-out applies when you bring in your own caterer, and a £500 + VAT bar buy-out when you bring in your own bar.
Yes. The Hackney is exclusive hire, so the whole venue is yours for talks, workshops and team building. You are welcome to bring your own facilitator or activity supplier. Tell us the shape of the day when you enquire and we will plan the layout around it.
Yes. The Hackney hosts board meetings, strategy days and workshops as well as away days, always as exclusive hire, so nobody else is in the building. Full day venue hire is £2,000 + VAT from 9am to 11pm, with your venue manager, furniture and AV included. Food and drink are quoted to your brief. Board meetings often book the same week, so check your date on our live calendar.
Away day hire at The Hackney runs from 9am to 11pm, with music until 11pm and guests leaving by 11:30pm. If you need earlier access to set up, that can usually be arranged: tell us when you enquire.
Yes. The Hackney's exposed brick and industrial interior work well with pull-up banners, projected logos, signage and custom table settings. We ask that nothing is fixed permanently to walls or floors, so no nails, screws or adhesive on the brickwork.
Yes. The Hackney has a built-in sound system covering the whole venue that connects to Spotify, so you can run your own playlist, and DJs are fine. Live performers work too, within our neighbours' limits: acoustic groups up to a quartet, finishing by 10pm.
Weekdays are The Hackney's main corporate availability, and most corporate clients book Monday to Friday. Our Check Your Date page shows live availability.
Most corporate events at The Hackney book four to eight weeks ahead, and summer Fridays go earliest. Weekday dates are often available at shorter notice, so it is always worth asking.
The Hackney is at 503 Hackney Road, London E2 9ED. Cambridge Heath Overground is a 2-minute walk and Bethnal Green Underground on the Central line is 8 minutes away. There is no on-site parking; Hackney Road has metered parking during the day and free parking from 7pm to 8am.
Honestly, not fully. The Hackney is a Victorian brewery with a protected facade, so there is a 15cm step at the entrance and the pavement is too narrow for a permanent ramp. The doorway is wide enough for a wheelchair with a little help. We do not currently have accessible toilets. If this matters for anyone on your team, tell us up front and we will be straight with you.
