Baby Showers
Daylight, Brick and Plants Overhead
A baby shower is a daytime party, and daytime parties need daylight. Ours comes through the glass roof of the winter garden, falls on exposed brick and catches the plants hanging overhead. It makes the photos, and it makes forty people feel like a proper gathering rather than a crowd in a function room.
The building is yours for the afternoon. Not a corner of a restaurant, not a private room off a busy bar. Your guests arrive to a room already set the way you asked.
Our kitchen makes the food here, from afternoon tea to grazing tables, and every dietary need is covered, from vegan to halal. Bring your cake, your balloons and your photo wall. Our team helps you set it all up and clears it away afterwards.

Baby Shower Questions
How much does a baby shower at The Hackney cost?
Baby showers at The Hackney start at £55 per person for our Classic afternoon tea package, from £1,100 for 20 guests. The Bottomless package is £75 per person, from £1,500 for 20 guests. Bottomless Cocktails is £95 per person, from £2,375 for a minimum of 25 guests. Every package includes 4 hours of exclusive hire, food, drinks and service.
How many guests can The Hackney hold for a baby shower?
The Hackney seats up to 60 guests and holds up to 100 standing. Our packages are priced for groups of 20 or more (25 for Bottomless Cocktails).
Will we have the venue to ourselves?
Yes. The Hackney is exclusive hire only, so your baby shower has the whole building for the afternoon: the Winter Garden, The Lounge, The Covered Terrace and The Bar Area. There are no other guests and no shared rooms.
What food and drink is included?
Food and drink are included in the per-person price. The Classic package is afternoon tea with sandwiches, cakes and pastries, plus unlimited tea, coffee and juices. The Bottomless packages add a grazing table and 90 minutes of bottomless prosecco, or bottomless cocktails and mocktails. Everything is made in our own kitchen.
Do you have non-alcoholic options?
Yes. Every package at The Hackney includes unlimited tea, coffee and juices, and the Bottomless Cocktails package pours mocktails alongside cocktails for the whole 90 minutes.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes. All food at The Hackney is prepared in house and every dietary requirement is catered for, from vegan to halal. Tell us when you book and we will plan the menu around your guests.
Can we bring our own cake and decorations?
Yes. Bring your cake from your favourite baker and we will store it, set it out and serve it, with no cake fee. Balloons, flowers, banners and photo walls are all welcome. We ask that nothing is fixed permanently to walls or floors, and our team helps with setup and takes everything down afterwards.
How long is a baby shower booking?
Baby shower packages at The Hackney run for 4 hours during the day.
Which days can we book?
We host baby showers on any day of the week, subject to availability. Sunday afternoons are a lovely fit, so ask about them early.
How far ahead should we book?
Shorter notice often works at The Hackney. Weekday and daytime dates are often available at short notice, so it is always worth asking, and the sooner you ask, the more dates there are to choose from.
Where is The Hackney and how do guests get there?
The Hackney is at 503 Hackney Road, London E2 9ED. Cambridge Heath Overground is a 2-minute walk and Bethnal Green Underground on the Central line is 8 minutes away. There is no on-site parking, and Hackney Road has metered parking during the day.
Is the venue accessible?
Honestly, not fully. The Hackney is a Victorian brewery with a protected facade, so there is a 15cm step at the entrance and the pavement outside is too narrow for a permanent ramp. The doorway is wide enough for a wheelchair with a little help. We do not currently have accessible toilets. If this matters for any of your guests, tell us up front and we will be straight with you about whether we can make it work.
